We recently got the chance to sit down with Donovan Coley, known by his DJ moniker DOCO. This super chill Tampa-based DJ and producer has been blowing up the local scene here with his fresh electro remixes of artists like Lorde, Skrillex, Katy Perry, Childish Gambino and many more. You would never know any of this, however, as his cool, laid-back attitude shows he’s nothing but humble.

Hailing from house music’s birthplace, Chicago, DOCO began DJing four years ago. Since his start, he has established the “biggest electro party in South Florida,” starting AMP!D Saturdays at Tampa’s Amphitheatre. He has made appearances alongside countless notable DJs and producers (Morgan Page, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Cedric Gervais, to name a few), and with his remixes on SoundCloud breaking more than 100,000 plays and his recent release of two original mixes, “Archangel” and “Before the Sun,” there’s no stopping this young up-and-comer.

In our exclusive one-on-one interview with DOCO, we discuss what it was like working next to such huge artists, how he got his start, what his plans for the future are and much, much more.
