Uber has announced that their service is finally available in Las Vegas. Now Las Vegas-goers can skip the taxi line on the strip, while finding a more cost effective way to get from club to club. For instance, UNLV to downtown Las Vegas will cost $13-17.
Michael Roberson and Kelvin Atkinson, Nevada senators, took the first Uber rides in the state on September 14 in Southern Nevada. Roberson has always been a major advocate of the alternative car service company in the state, and was clearly one of the reasons why the company was finally allowed into the City of Sin.
“I’ve always believed that embracing change is the best path to success. Uber’s technology will create opportunity and more transportation options for both Nevadans and visitors from all over the world, helping this city continue to grow.”
Although surge pricing will no doubt have an effect on the cheaper prices, tourists will enjoy the convenience of Uber on the busy Las Vegas strip.
