It was only two weeks ago that we found out Adele was releasing a new single, and she’s already breaking records.

“Hello” has made digital record history by selling 1.1 million copies in its first week. Flo Rida was the previous record holder with 636,000 sales for his hit, “Right Round” in 2009.

Adele’s record-breaking sales week has also given her the title for the biggest one-week sales by a female artist in the United States. Taylor Swift previously held the record with, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” which sold 623,000 copies during its first week in 2012.

Adele overcame another one of Taylor Swift’s records: her Vevo record for “Bad Blood.” While Taylor had 20.1 million views within 24 hours, Adele surpassed her with 27 million views.

It’s clear that Adele is a force to be reckoned with, and we can only anticipate what will come next when she drops new music on the world.

“Hello” is the first single off her upcoming album, set to be released on November 20.
