Last September Pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli gained worldwide hatred when he reportedly raised the price of his corporation’s AIDS medication over 5,000 percent from $13.50 to over $750 per tablet. During all of his newly found wealth, Shkreli made a personal splurge on the coveted, single release of Wu-Tang’s ultra exclusive, one-of-a-kind album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin that is worth a whopping $2 million.
During an interview with Vice, Shkreli was quoted saying he, “vacillates between wanting to destroy the record and dreaming of installing it in some remote place so that people have to make a spiritual quest to listen.”
Only a few months after becoming globally despised, Shkreli was arrested by the FBI for security fraud charges and faces 20 years in prison, so now we can only hope the coveted Wu-Tang album will be one of the high-priced items seized from his estate and later sold at auction, or maybe he will sell the album to a private buyer if/when times get desperate.
Either way, we just hope the Wu-Tang album gets released before Shkreli decides to destroy it. After all, he did just say:
“I’m not just the heel of the music world, I want to be the world’s heel.”
