Laying down some new sounds to keep 2016 on a strong level this week is Varcity, the Brisbane based house production unit. They have dropped “Baked Goods” through Micropope, two stellar cuts that are full of punchy flavours.

The first is the title track, and this one comes bursting with groove. Using an ethereal vocal with tightly driven use of hats, “Baked Goods” keeps on gathering power. “JR” is something a bit different, taking a house beat and vocals from Martin Luther King’s instantly distinctive “I Have A Dream” speech, throwing in synth-driven melodies for good measure.
