Red Hot Chili Peppers are back, baby. The legendary group just dropped a brand new album, The Getaway, on Warner Bros. Records.
The Getaway, produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Nigel Goodrich, marks their first album release since I’m With You in 2011. It proves not only how timeless the Chili Peppers can be, but how capable they are at revamping their music for the era, while keeping it true to their signature sound.
The music video for the album single “Dark Necessities,” which was directed by actress Olivia Wilde, was also unveiled yesterday and can be viewed below.
“It was an honor and a thrill to create this video with such wonderful artists, who happen to make up one of the greatest bands of all time.” – Olivia Wilde
Additionally, the band joined James Corden for ‘Carpool Karaoke’ on The Late Late Show earlier this week and the clip has now been viewed over 11 million times since it aired.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will continue to perform at a variety of music festivals around the world this summer, including headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 30. For a complete list of upcoming dates, click here.
The Getaway is out now and can be purchased here.
