The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic will be covering classic electronic tracks by artists like Deadmau5, Underworld, Nina Kraviz, Aphex Twin, Ten Walls, and more in an upcoming album called Dance Music Symphony.

On July 2nd, the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra will be interpreting the songs for the first time at Sweden’s Bråvalla Festival.

Composer Hans Ek of The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic released the following statement about the album: “I listened through a vast amount of dance classics and new hits. From a palette of the greatest music I selected songs perfectly suite to a symphonic ‘remix.’ For example, Massive Attack’s ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ already had a strong orchestral presence, and Daft Punk’s ‘Aerodynamic’ had elements of Vivaldi and Prokofiev.”
