The concert event we didn’t know we needed has just been announced! The immersive Game of Thrones concert tour is coming to cities across North America early next year (lucky us) and will feature headlining performances by the show’s Grammy-nominated composer Ramin Djawadi!

Djawadi, the German-Iranian composer for Game of Thrones, is a man of many musical talents. He was nominated for a Grammy for his work on the Iron Man soundtrack in 2008, and has also worked on the scores for films Pacific Rim and Warcraft as well as the television shows Prison Break and Person of Interest. He graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in 1998 (if that doesn’t tell you enough already). His work on Game of Thrones has won him several industry awards. Djawadi’s usual orchestrators are Stephen Coleman and Tony Blondal.

Djawadi’s epic score will come to life in this multi-sensory experience complete with live orchestra, choir, and visual footage. Some of the visuals will be moments from the show itself, others are original content created purely for the live shows and their audiences. Audience members will have the opportunity to relive the highlights of Game of Thrones, apparently including everyone’s favorite scene from the Red Wedding, the birth of Daenerys’s three dragons, and the infamously brutal Battle of the Bastards from the show’s most recent season.

“For seven years, Ramin has been blowing our mind with his music’s force, subtlety, and endless inventiveness,” said Game of Thrones creators/executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. “The GoT Concert Experience will be unique in the history of concert tours, an eye-popping, ear-splitting, phantasmagoric blend of the show’s visuals and Ramin’s powerful compositions. We are more excited for it than anyone.”
