A recent interview claimed that Die Antwoord had plans to break up in September 2017.
Daryl Keating of Exclaim! claimed that Ninja himself confirmed the duo’s plans to disband next year, quoting “Die Antwoord dies on that day. It’s all over. I feel beautiful about it. I’m not scared of the end. I’m a Ninja. I’m not scared of death.'”
But now, duo member Yolandi Visser took to her Instagram page to shut down the entire interview.
“DIE ANTWOORD IS NOT BREAKING UP,” Visser said.
She goes on to say that the journalist who had published the article twisted their words and took what they said out of context. So either the entire arrangement was a publicity stunt, or the journalist actually published an article full of lies. Either way, we’re glad that Die Antwoord will live on and we can’t wait to hear their forthcoming albums.
