Art Basel will be taking over the lovely streets of Miami during the first week of December for a week filled with art, food, and of course, music. Here are some of the best shows to see during Art Basel 2016.

1. Life and Death Basel Edition

Life and Death will be hosting a 12-hour event at Miami’s Little River Studios on Thursday, Dec. 1st and the lineup is already enough to make anyone serious about techno blush; Ame , DJ Three, Dorisburg (Live), HVOB (Live), Young Marco, Prins Thomas, Job Jobse, and Rodhad will all be playing. This will be a first trip to sunny Miami for German DJ Rodhad, who runs Dystopian Records. Come for the mystical techno and leave in a tea daze.

2. Richie Hawtin by Link Miami Rebels at TRADE Art Basel

Does this man need an introduction? DJ to the techno gods, Mr. Richie Hawtin, will be visiting Miami once again for another year of Basel–this time making a debut at Trade Nightclub on Dec. 1st. Hawtin will also be bringing his newest goodie, the sleek and sexy MODEL1 mixer. Wherever Richie goes, the masses follow and that night will be no different. Everyone needs a little minimal techno to darken their Thursday, no?

3. Dubfire: Live Hybrid w/ Art Department-Basel Pop Up – Dec. 2nd

Secret Garden and 1NE Entertainment are teaming up with the legendary and revered Dubfire for a live show that will not only please the ears, but will also stimulate the eyes. Dubfire’s live show is so much more than him being behind the decks and hitting the tapper delay. This show will harmoniously blend the concepts of music, art, and technology into one, by welding 2D and 3D animation together with live audio. This show is the epitome of what Art Basel is about–infusion and evolution of all the humanities.

4. Where Are My Keys ART BASEL 2016: DAY 1 – All Day I Dream – Dec. 3rd

As fast-paced as Miami’s Art Basel may seem, it will be slowing the BPM for the first ever installment of Where Are My Keys? All Day I Dream takeover. Details for the 12-hour All Day I Dream takeover are currently scarce, including the location and lineup, which are still yet to be determined. Minus the cryptic information, this is the show for any techno lover or tourist who wants to decompress and dance away the art hangover of Basel.

5. Luciano – Link Miami Rebels Art Basel Pop-Up – Dec. 3rd

Our favorite Swiss-Chilean DJ and Cadenza Music founder, Luciano, will be gracing Miami’s infamous Club Space for what is sure to be 10 hours of pure fiesta-style tech house. When the sun starts peaking with aplomb over the terrace at Space, it’s already a magical moment. However, when you add Luciano’s euphoric and hypnotic tracks and samples, you are left with something utter worldly. Did someone say “maracas?”

6. Music On Basel Edition STORY – Dec. 3rd

The Italian stallion, Marco Carola, is back at Story Nightclub (his last appearance being almost exactly one year ago) to please the crowd with proper Italian-style tech house. The highs will be high that night. Marco Carola is no stranger to Miami, nor to Story, and he knows how to deliver the proper Music On sound he has patented and made his own.

7. Acid Sundays with Acid Pauli: Art Basel Miami 2016 – Dec. 4th

Still have enough leg strength, endurance, and brain cells for one more show? If thats the case, come to the The Factory at Magic City for Acid Pauli and friends–the ultimate bon voyage for Art Basel week. Partnering with the ever impressive III Points, Acid Sundays with Acid Pauli will be the perfect hybrid of electronic music and avant-garde weirdness. Whether you come after brunch, dinner, or late night snacks (the event is from 2 p.m. to 5 a.m.), you will guaranteed a cacophony of acid that will melt you to the core and make you dance through the final hours of what is sure to be an Art Basel for the books.
