Varien delivers a dark, warping roller coaster of a release with this one. The seven track EP ‘My Prayers Have Become Ghosts’ is a chaotic exploration of bass structuring and fascinating percussion. The EP flows as a cohesive exploration of emotion intended to provide you with an experience that doesn’t hold your hand – and it definitely does not baby you. With its gliding, twisted basslines and educated production, the entire release pleasantly fills a room despite its abrasive, anxious delivery. ‘My Prayers Have Become Ghosts’ is an incredibly musical and cinematic playlist of electronic music, and that should come as no surprise from Varien.

From his major recognition in the music industry, Varien (Nick Pittsinger) has been able to transfer his talents to the big screen with score credits for films like Furious 7, as well as being featured in The Walking Dead, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Purge: Anarchy, The Loft, Bones, Face Off and many more.

‘My Prayers Have Become Ghosts’ is out now on Monstercat and needs to be experienced from beginning to end. I’ll be listening to this one on repeat for a while.
