Flume is starting the year off strong, with a major, and unexpected, announcement.

Next week, the Australian award-winning producer will release a second follow up to ARIA-dominating album Skin.

The four-track batch, titled Skin Companion EP II, has a few major collaborators. Pusha T, who was first assumed to be Vince Staples, provides a dominating topline for menacing opening track “Enough.” The vocalist on “Weekend” has yet to be determined, but it evokes more emotion in a one-minute preview than most tracks do in three (to me, at least). “Depth Charge” seems to be the only track sans vocalist, but the synthwork is so intricate that it’s well off without one. Glass Animals vocalist Dave Bayley proves to be an interesting collaboration for “Fantastic,” which brings the Animals’ indie vibe to Flume’s signature soothing sound.
