Whoever is slated to replace Beyoncé at Coachella this year has some pretty big shoes to fill. However, it looks like Coachella may have found the perfect replacement. A Playboy magazine article claims that an anonymous source working on Daft Punk’s production team has confirmed that they will be planning a major tour for this coming spring. If this is true, one would think a festival like Coachella would be a perfect place to start it off.
There have been many different occurrences that have been alluding to a Daft Punk 2017 tour. There’s been a cryptic video, a GRAMMY performance, an L.A. pop up shop, and countless rumors. It’s also necessary to mention that Daft Punk’s previous tours have taken place in 1997 and 2007. It shouldn’t be too hard to see the pattern here.
As far as their Coachella performance goes, it’s looking very likely. You can even put money on it if you’re feeling confident. Online sportsbook Betfair has released their odds on who they think will be replacing Queen B this spring. Here are the Top 3:
1. Daft Punk – 3/1
2. Jay Z – 5/1
3. Kanye West – 7/1
Even though we can’t 100% confirm anything until we hear it from the French power-duo themselves, you have to admit that things are looking very in favor of a 2017 return.
