Thanks to audio engineer Rob Small, Daft Punk rumors are running rampant again. After a Facebook post by the Leeds-based audio mastering studio owner saying, “I have the pleasure of mastering something very special by the mighty Daft Punk,” fans, bloggers, and producers began speculating at the possibility of a new release.
However, the rumor was soon dismissed as false by Small himself after hype became overwhelming. In a new Facebook post, the audio engineer states that the project is a remaster of some of Daft Punk’s early work. No information about whether Daft Punk has other plans in the works is available.
Still, working on anything that has to do with Daft Punk is a remarkable achievement for anyone. To put it in the words of a comment by Colin Keeler on the updated Facebook post, “That they thought you would make it that much better is mind blowing!” Even though this is not a new release, it’s still something to look forward to for hardcore Daft Punk fans.
