New York is in a frenzy this week and it’s all because of deadmau5. Joel Zimmerman is in the middle of a four-night, sold-out run at Hammerstein Ballroom, with support by Feed Me, kicking off his lots of shows in a row tour [sic]. With such a massive turnout, there was no doubt that one of dance music’s most iconic showmen would deliver a memorable spectacle. Enter the Cube 2.1, heralded by design company TAIT as “the world’s most transformative DJ stand.”
Zimmerman has spent the last year releasing teasers of the immersive platform, a gargantuan structure covered in Rubik’s Cube-like LED screens. The set-up is completed with an array of strobe lights backing the stage, and it truly comes to life when synchronized with Zimmerman’s hypnotizing music.
