Having a co-sign from Mat Zo was enough to spark our interest, but Shadient’s debut EP, winter=reality, left us thoroughly satisfied.

19-year-old Shadient has been producing music out of his bedroom since the age of 10, and draws inspiration from the likes of FKA Twigs, Jon Hopkins, Moody Good, Aphex Twin, REZZ, Gesaffelstein, Justice and more. Already backed by Madeon, Porter Robinson, and REZZ, it’s clear that the rising British producer is on the right track.

A spooky environment sets the stage for what is a wonderful collection known as winter=reality. Opening track “Lotus” has the dark mid-tempo vibe that we have come to know and love from his early supporter REZZ, but with a supplementary level of diversity and proficient sound design. “Secret Fires” follows as a full-length melodic interlude that makes you pause before hitting you with REZZ’s favorite track. The wizardry that Shadient manifests in “Leidenfront” is beautiful madness, as is the rest of the EP. Outro track “The View From Up Here” confirms that Shadient is making a simple, yet effective, introduction to the world with winter=reality.

“Shadient is one of the most promising new artists out right now.”- Porter Robinson
