Anybody living in the area knows how revered Bassnectar is in Colorado, regardless of music taste. The pinnacle of Red Rocks shows was Lorin’s three-night run at the end of May, and of course, tickets sold out instantly. However, since the town of Morrison (where Red Rocks resides) passed new noise laws in 2015, Bassnectar promised he would never return, in fear of not being able to give his fans the experience they all desired. He also stated, though, that he would make up for that by giving Colorado bassheads something “super magical” in 2016.

Thus, Denver was gifted the infamous Bass Center 2016 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, where the bass shook the entire city, literally. After even more complaints, it seemed very unlikely that Bassnectar would be able to return to Dick’s, and bassheads all over were left wondering what Lorin would have in store for Colorado in 2017.

Just yesterday, Bassnectar revealed that he would be throwing down “something completely different” for Colorado. He’s announced a three-day run at Broomfield’s 1STBank Center, a venue he’s played in the past, and a venue free of any noise restrictions. These aren’t going to be any run-of-the-mill Nectar shows, though:

“You are invited to join us in a new experiment as we flip the script, reach back into the vault, and let the music take control. We are taking over a room in colorado, removing the stage, building a little dj booth for various humans to jam out inside of, while you can get lost in the crowd. close your eyes, put your phone away. stop texting, stop tweeting, stop thinking. don’t take pictures, don’t try and record the moment. don’t sit at home and watch this on youtube, come experience it live, the way dance parties used to feel, the way house parties feel, the way it feels to be out in the middle of nowhere just vibing on good sound.”

What kind of music can we expect Lorin to prepare for us? Well, just take a look at the poster that’s plastered all around Denver, Boulder, and everywhere in between:

If I’ve learned anything being a Bassnectar fan, it’s that I’ll need to be at my laptop ready to cop a ticket (or a three-day pass), at the exact time tickets are going to be released, which will be this upcoming Friday, April 21st at 10 a.m. MTN. But seriously, one minute later and you could be stuck draining your bank account to get into one of these shows. There are NO pre-sales, just this one, so be ready.
