Mr. FijiWiji and Québécois Exist Strategy’s Monstercat release, “Andromeda” (feat. Matt Van), transports fans 2.5 million light-years from Earth. Matt Van’s Matt Sedan is the male counterpart of electronic folk songstress Laura Brehm, and his cathartic “Andromeda” vocals wash away all injustice in this world. “Caught in a wasteland, and I don’t know what to do,” hums Sedan. “Floating through vacant spaces, couldn’t stop if I wanted to.” 19-year-old Brendan Galdo’s (Mr. FijiWiji) consistently awe-inspiring production capabilities never fail to move an audience. The future garage gem debuted 34 minutes and 48 seconds into “Monstercat Podcast Ep. 151.”

Matt Van told Noiseporn, “Usually when I’m coming up with lyrics or a melody, the music invokes some sort of feeling or past experience that I’m able to draw upon. With ‘Andromeda,’ I locked myself in a dark room and listened to the instrumental on repeat; Fij and Exist Strategy had been tweaking it for several months. The imagery and atmosphere of the track made me actually feel like I was floating alone in the vast vacuum of space, and it served as a perfect metaphor for everything I was feeling at the time. Once I put myself in that place, recording my part felt pretty natural.”
