Kannibalen artist and Idahoan, Kai Wachi, uncaged “SHUTITDOWN” last Wednesday; this track succeeded Wachi’s April release, the Demons Remixes EP, featuring Liquid Stranger, Black Tiger Sex Machine, NuKid and SQUNTO.

The nuclear number “SHUTITDOWN” possesses head-spinning bass, scratches and synths like 1973’s “The Exorcist.”

Mid-song, a lady’s “I love you” gently transitions the allegro con fuoco tempo to softened aural bliss. Spring 2017’s “SHUTITDOWN” offers an unforeseen religious experience that reconceptualizes America’s definition of dubstep for the better. Two days beforehand, EDM.com selected Wachi as one of their “20 Artists To Look Out For This Festival Season.” And you thought you were having the best week ever.

“When I was creating the song I wanted something thrashy,” said Wachi. “Something that sounds and feels like you’re getting torn up.”
