Dublin-born producer EMBRZ is releasing his extremely anticipated EP Progress, July 7 on Ultra Music. To build the anticipation even more, EMBRZ released “Higher,” the first single off of the stunning EP.
“Higher” begins its mystification with a gorgeous, soft, cloud-like pluck. Amy Rose’s vocals soon come in and are provided a gorgeous palette to paint on. “Higher” slowly progresses, allowing the listener to really soak in the atmospheric textures and space that EMBRZ intends. You’ll also hear a subtle piano and electric bass walking around in the background. 1/3 of the way through the song, “Higher” takes a turn into the progressive dance music abyss. I can definitely hear inspiration from Porter Robinson‘s “Language” during the drop. To go even higher, EMBRZ brings Amy Rose’s angelic vocals back in to go out smoothly. “Higher” is a monument for any relaxed setting, showcasing EMBRZ’s talents as an electronic music producer. Chills went up and down my spine throughout this piece. Incredible job by both EMBRZ and Amy Rose!
EMBRZ is a self-taught electronic music producer that holds a genre-defying sonic uniqueness. His impressive success came from two incredibly successful remixes: Ellie Goulding‘s “How Long Will I Love You” and The 1975‘s “Settle Down.” He’s released a handful of remarkable songs ever since, including “Home,” “Lights,” and “Breathe.” EMBRZ has already built an impressive resume up, and he doesn’t intend on slowing down anytime soon. His embers will continue to heat up.
