I started getting into electronic music production about halfway through my freshman year in high school. At that point I was already a few years into electronic music and had just got into DJ’ing a year earlier. Coming from a musical background, I think it was a natural progression that I decided to take my interest in electronic music a step further and I picked up FL Studio. I just spent a whole bunch of time on my computer learning as much as I could through youtube tutorials and messing about, I was having so much fun with the whole thing.
In the past I’ve been inspired by guys like Mr. Carmack, Lido, Flume, and Cashmere Cat, and still am, but nowadays I’m also feeling heavily inspired by the likes of KRANE, Ekali, graves and Mura Masa. My friends make incredible music and they all inspire me a ton as well.
Where do you hope to find yourself in the next 5-10 years as your career progresses?
Hopefully by then I would have already become a touring artist sharing music all over and still going strong. Maybe have a label or collective to run? Would be cool, I love discovering hidden talent and putting people on. I’d also like to have some ties in the mainstream/pop industry too honestly, think it would be nice playing behind the scenes and creating with artists I really enjoy. Ariana Grande, if you’re reading this, hit my line?
How did it feel when you find out that you were going to have a release on UZ’s Quality Goods Records label?
That release actually just started out with my good friend Pasdat sending UZ our track as promo. He hit us back asking if we had a release planned yet, we said nope, and it stemmed from there. It was such an amazing feeling and a special occasion being it was my first official label release. UZ was one of the first trap artists I ever listened to so it was super special.
Tough one. I think so far the track that makes me think, “its pretty hip that I made that,” the most is my remix to Things and Such from PARTYNEXTDOOR.
I wanna give a shoutout to all my friends for being super awesome and supportive, my parents for letting me follow my dreams, and everyone who has listened to a track of mine or supported me in anyway so far, it means the world to me. As far as the music goes, watch out for a rebrand in the nearish future with new and better music. I always want to be the best I can be and it’ll be a step towards that. Thank you Noiseporn for having me!!
