The decibels will be lowered in Amsterdam. The Amsterdam City Council announced that the city will be setting up rigorous sound limitations for large music events inside the capital.

“Organizers are now mainly concerned with how the sound sounds on the field,” a city council spokesperson said. “According to the new rules, they will also have to focus on the question of the effect of noise on the environment, and how to minimize the inconvenience.”

Sound cannot go past 85 decibels within the capital. However, exceptions have been made for a couple dozen venues, such as Zuidas, Museum Square and a venue in Westpoort.

It is unknown whether the Gashouder will have to abide with these new regulations. We can expect that Amsterdam Dance Event will still be blaring and unforgettable.
