DJ/producer Diplo has been known to create some of the hottest mash-up mixtapes influenced by ‘80s pop, electronica, Dirty South hip-hop, and his major influence, Miami bass music. He’s made a major impact on the alternative electro-pop scene, earning him rave reviews from music critics and fans alike.

After dropping an infectious single, “Imperfections” with Starrah, about a month ago, the two musicians have come together for another track called “Swerve.” The song features less rap from Starrah, who opts to sing instead, while Diplo’s production on the track is simple, yet effective, allowing Starrah’s auto-tuned vocals to shine through.

“Swerve” is a low-key track that gives a romantic vibe featuring an acoustic guitar melody. The dancehall-meets-future R&B track, which dropped on Mad Decent, comes with a lyric video featuring the singer and DJ as 3D cartoons, a pimped-out car and two tigers.
