Grey’s brand new Chameleon EP came out this morning, and it has one unlikely feature.

The American duo, best known for their debut single “Starving” with Hailee Steinfeld, has teamed up with none other than punk rock sweetheart Avril Lavigne for their new release. The five-track collection sees Avril come in at “Wings Clipped,” which is an EDM/pop hybrid track with a future bass vibe. Guitar strums before the drop make it extra special, but the ingenuity is quickly shattered with unnecessary vocal chops that make the track a bit too try-hard. Male vocalist Anthony Green, however, adds a fantastic touch to bring the track to its end.

The rest of Chameleon sees features from Asia, Skott, Frances and Stephen. Overall, it’s an impressive multi-genre release that showcases Grey’s versatile production range, even if it does include the most unexpected feature of 2017.
