After a performance in March 2016 at Ultra Music Festival, Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, announced in a letter that he would be retiring from performing live. People everywhere thought he would be leaving music for good, but only shortly after, he went on a journey across the U.S. with his closest friends and creators, and he was led back to the joy of doing what always meant the most to him: composing music.
Avicii suffered from stress and exhaustion on the road, which led him to call it quits for a while. Although he is back to producing music, many are wondering when they can see him perform live again and question what really went on during his break. He recently revealed during the third episode of his radio show, Avicii FM, that he will be releasing a tell-all biopic called True Stories.
The documentary will hit Netflix in the near future, showing the life of the producer over the past four to five years.
“[Avicii’s] had so much material from both in the studio, from behind the scenes on concerts, during good and bad times. I’m really excited. I’m also a bit nervous because it is kind of gritty sometimes. It’s very personal. There’s a lot of ups and downs. It’s going to be interesting to see what people say. I think it’s going to be in a bunch of movie theaters and also on Netflix after that,” said Levan Tsikurishvili, director of the documentary.
Avicii recently released his EP, AVĪCI, which features his track with Rita Ora, “Lonely Together,” and admitted he’s excited to be back with music once again.
