Chris Lake continues to show absolutely no mercy on 2017. The Grammy-nominated producer has already released a handful of club-smashing singles, as well as curating the infamous HOWSLA project, all while slaying venues around the country on his Lose My Mind tour.

Earlier this week, Chris Lake released his first remix of the year, a bumping, official house version of Pell’s “Patience,” originally produced by London On Da Track. When describing the remix, Chris Lake said “This was definitely a tricky one. I’m a fan of this record but the takes didn’t sit naturally in a house groove, so it took some invention to make it work for my kind of dance floor.” The execution could not have been pulled off any better. The result is a nitty-gritty, four-on-the-floor banger, chock full of Chris Lake’s signature kick drums and stabs, that is slightly reminiscent of this year’s infamous hit “Operator.”

If you’re a fan of Chris Lake, you’ll love this remix. Rap songs are notoriously hard to remix into house tracks, especially if the BPM is completely off. The final result may sound nothing like the original, but that just goes to show how Chris Lake took all these different elements and wound it up into something dope.
