This past weekend was a trance-head dream! Dreamstate SoCal came to dominate the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino and sincerely delivered. Insomniac’s premier trance festival came back for the 3rd year and brought in over 35,000 attendees.

While this was my first trance festival, I have been forever changed. I always thought that trance was repetitive and unexciting, but boy was I wrong. With 4 creative stages, state-of-the-art lasers, and over 70 trance legends, the melodies couldn’t keep you off your feet.

The most thrilling part for myself was, of course, VIP. While Pasquale Rotella had his own ‘sky-deck’ for his close friends and family, VIP was filled with kandi-making, popcorn machines, and a walk-through room filled to the rim with Christmas lights.

Not only was this event just pleasing to the eye, but there were plenty of ‘firsts’ that no one wanted to miss. Dreamstate premiered the West Coast debut of AEON by Paul Van Dyk, Jodan Suckley’s worldwide premiere of 3FECT, and my personal favorite, the two incredibly stellar performances done by Armin Van Buuren. We were lucky enough to hear his alias GAIA in California for the very first time. That set was the perfect nightcap and was nothing short of spooky.

I’ve gained such a renowned respect for this genre, and I can’t wait to get to know the artists more and more. Although the year is coming to a close, it doesn’t stop here. On December 30th and 31st, Insomniac will throw the West Coast’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration at San Bernardino’s NOS Events Center. You guessed it! It’s Countdown NYE 2017. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, we’ve got you covered. Click here before they sell out!
