Brandon Rowan, also known as Birocratic, is a multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. The 24-year-old has already had successful releases on Chillhop Records, Atlantic’s Big Beat, features in BuzzFeed and YouTube sensation Casey Neistat‘s videos. He’s also released official remixes for GRiZ and opened for artists like MNDSGN and StarRo.
Now, the funky fresh burgeoning artist has released a new single titled “Extra Fresh.” The infomercial-sounding track is paired with a retro-feeling music video that promotes some minty mouthwash. “Extra Fresh” features a groovy percussion rhythm with synth melodies and plucks that bounce flawlessly with the perfectly-suited bass line that moves throughout. Birocratic has implemented a wide array of musical elements from a plethora of genres, including hip-hop and house music. The two make for a very catchy disco tune when combined.
Birocratic’s music became a hit when his dorm room beat tapes continued showing up in the aforementioned internet videos, garnering millions of streams. Amazingly, the multi-faceted musician and producer has remained an independent artist. He’s also been known to put on diverse live performances that include him performing with the bass guitar, keyboard, finger-drumming, and much more. This multitude of talent has allowed him to embed a handful of genres like experimental jazz, hip-hop, and house in his live performances as well as his productions.
