Miami natives GTA, aka Good Times Ahead, delivered their Mad Decent 4-track Death To Genres, Vol. 3 EP cameoing powerhouses Dillon Francis, Wax Motif, Anna Lunoe, Zac From FIDLAR, Baauer, Damien N-Drix, TT The Artist and Big Mack.
SoCal punk rock troupe FIDLAR’s frontman Zac Carper employs commanding lyricism, while Matthew Van Toth and Julio Meija (GTA) construct a 134 BPM, 4/4 pattern conceiving the electro house anthem “Money.” The Brooklyn recording studio of Flosstradamus‘ Curt Cameruci became the breeding ground for trap tune “Step It Up,” and it shows; “Mosh Pit” remnants remind HDYNATION the good ole’ days are far from over.
Baauer’s iconic “Harlem Shake” lead synth, dare I say, throws this single into hardstyle territory. “I Can’t Hold On” highlights a crisp clap, kick, frequency modulated bassline and Lunoe’s pitched vocal sample. Marseilles, France hotshot Damien N-Drix’s “DunDun” drop mirrors house-heads’ heartbeats.
“We wanted to bring more of the energetic club sound a lot of our fans that come see us live are used to, and we also tried to put in a bit more of a chiller side,” Mejia told Billboard.
