Mad Decent has released Tex-Mex producers Boombox Cartel‘s future bass/pop poem “Whisper” (feat. Nevve). Boombox Cartel’s Jorge Medina and Americo Garcia “wanted to blend the soulful traditional style with the electronic world. This song is really different to what we usually put out, but it just felt right.” Acoustic guitar fingerpicking, twinkling xylophone strikes and a strong rhythmic pulse make “Whisper” pleasing to the ear. Olivia Van Rye and Mollie Tarlow birthed an official music video complementing Keeley Osborn Bumford’s (Nevve) wistful words.

All around me smoke is heavy
Going down deep, I’m not ready
You’re world is burning, but I don’t really care
I’m just waiting for you to be there
Silence is screaming. I just can’t relax
Current so strong, and you’re pulling me back
‘Cause when I fall and hit the wall
The only escape is your voice in the rain
And that’s when you whisper
