Fool’s Gold Records has released the Hoodboi R&B/Soul single “Drowning” (feat. Julius & Djemba Djemba).

In 2018 alone, Hoodboi’s Roger Schami teased his May 22 Breathing Room EP via BBC Radio 1’s segment “Annie Nightingale presents…,” announced a monthly curated Spotify playlist termed “Detour” and delivered musical masterpieces: “Long Distance,” “Tip Of My Tongue” (feat. Tzar) and “Glide” (feat. Tkay Maidza). Schami has worked with big cheese composers DJ SliinkSweater Beats, Alison WonderlandAlizzz and Lido.

“Drowning” possesses lingering bass guitar grooves, lovesick lyrics and a drum machine-backed rhythm, affirming Julius’ titillating topline.

“Drowning in the thought that we could be something

It’s hard to open up coming from a state of nothing

Can you feel the eventide”

Breathing Room is dedicated to Schami’s late Boston Terrier Milo, who passed away last October. Listen to “Drowning” from the forthcoming EP below and download here.
