As Lightning in a Bottle officially gets underway tomorrow, you might still be wondering who to check out this week and weekend as the collection of artists on this year’s lineup can be both overwhelming and mysterious. To help guide your way through the lineup and ease your musical journey, we’ve gathered 10 artists that might surprise you while roaming around the magical land that makes up LIB.

The Black Madonna

One of the queens of techno, The Black Madonna, had a superb set at EDC Las Vegas and I’m anxious to see how she transitions to LIB and The Woogie. A force to be reckoned with, she has risen to the top of the techno ranks with ease and keeps on climbing.

Nicole Moudaber

Another queen of techno, Nicole barely needs an introduction to seasoned techno snobs. With this rare appearance in the states, this is a set that will be talked about long after LIB is over.

Walker & Royce

These two Dirtybird’s are killin’ it right now and are at the forefront of innovative house music. These two tore it up at Dirtybird Campout and you can expect more of the same come Friday.

Evan Casey

Mr. Casey will be on the decks at the Favela Bar on Thursday night and had an immaculate set this past Desert Hearts. A rising talent, Casey handles the decks with ease and hits all the right notes on his track selections, taking the listener on a journey that bridges both house and techno.

Desert Hearts Lakeside Takeover on Thursday

The highlight of Thursday and quite possibly the entire weekend. The Desert Hearts crew, consisting of Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs and Porky, have taken the west coast and beyond by storm with their ‘House, Techno, LOVE ‘ mantra and their positive outlook. If you haven’t experienced a Desert Hearts family set, now is the time to see what you’ve been missing.
