In 2006 and 2007, Steve Aoki’s music lifestyle brand DIM MAK held its first two NEIGHBORHOOD festivals in Los Angeles. These two legendary events featured burgeoning acts in the indie and electro movements, and represented ground zero of global hipster culture at that time. Cut to 2018 – Dim Mak relaunched NEIGHBORHOOD as a community-centered mini-festival embarking in select North American markets. Inspired by the exciting and eclectic soundscape of modern music, Dim Mak kicked off their inaugural event in a city that is home to some of the most talented hip hop and electronic music artists in history – Brooklyn, NY.
