Diplo has put together a massive remix package for his recent California album, and the lineup is huge. Featuring flips from Keys N Krates, QUIX, UNKWN and more, the six-track collection offers unique renditions to the successful hybrid album.
Keys N Krates transform “Worry No More” with their signature glistening electronic touch, and, I have to agree, I prefer this version over the original. Next up, remix extraordinaire UNKWN flips “Suicidal” upside down with a huge trap remix. This one is sure to be a festival staple throughout the rest of the summer.
Similarly, QUIX makes things a little heavier with a hybrid trap/bass cover of “Look Back.” The New Zealander definitely stepped outside of his comfort zone for this one, and it paid off big time. Things slow down with a chilled-out version of “Wish” by Soulection artist Jarreau Vandal before Tony Romera delivers house vibes on “Get It Right.”
Australia-based producer TWERL and California native Max Styler collaborate once again on a powerful remix of “Color Blind.” Lil Xan’s vocals are kept intact while a new take comes in the form of a summertime party starter. The rework highlights both of the young artists’ skill sets and the pair makes for quite a formidable duo. TWERL and STYLER also released “Wasted Time” on Elysian Records in March and look to keep the party going with this one.
