The Chainsmokers, comprised of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, have launched into international stardom over the last few years. The electronic/pop duo have quickly become a household name. Their smash hit “Closer” featuring Halsey dominated the charts and airwaves for months. Since then, they’ve continued to take over the charts and airwaves with their relatable lyrics and emotive tracks. They’ve now teamed up with bass music pioneer NGHTMRE for a slamming and unexpected collaboration called “Save Yourself.”
The track features The Chainsmokers’ recognizable sound as well as their emotional lyrics. Drew’s vocals carry the melodies throughout, while NGHTMRE’s hardcore dubstep production takes over and unleashes havoc during the drop. Grit, grime, distortion, and complete unexpectedness transpire during this entire track. Each drop features something a little different, heightening the ear candy each time.
“Tyler (NGHTMRE) has been a good friend of ours for some time and we always talked about how great it would be to work together on a song,” says The Chainsmokers. “We have always been a huge fan of his style of producing and thought that if we came together on a song we could make something really unique and badass, and the idea of making something really gnarly was very appealing. We come from the dance world, those are our roots and we are really excited to release a song that is deeply rooted in that with NGHTMRE. We think our fans will be really excited about this one!”
