We’re not sure what’s in the drinking water in Australia, but upcoming producer WILDLYF has plenty of it.

The Sydney, Australia native burst onto the scene with his remix of Alison Wonderland’s “Messiah” in 2017 and has garnered the support of names like Slushii, K?d, NGHTMRE, SLANDER and more ever since. His clean trap and future bass sound has landed him releases on Circus Records and recognition from Trap Nation, Your EDM, Run The Trap and more.

We connected with the up-and-comer for an exclusive guest mix featuring unreleased music, exclusive edits and tons of other great picks. Check it out along with a Q&A below.

Hey Conor! Thanks for chatting with us today. How did you get into music production?

It’s crazy, I got into music through just being a huge Skrillex fanboy when I was about 13, I pretty much wanted to be just like him so I pretty much took the leap from there and here I am.

How has living in Australia affected your musical career so far?

It’s definitely impacted my career a lot. Australia has such a particular scene, the crowds know what they like and what they don’t and being around that definitely rubs off on me. I have so much love for the scene though and wanna keep being involved in it whether I’m just around the corner or thousands of miles away.

You recently teamed up with Havok Roth for “Stellar.” How did you two connect?

That song was a trip. I remember earlier this year Julio’s (Havok Roth) manager reached out to me saying he was interested in working together and wanted me to send some ideas, admittedly I had no ideas at the time so in the excitement of the moment I just whipped up the drop to Stellar in like 25 minutes, sent it over as it was and they loved it.

I first came across your work with your Alison Wonderland remix in 2017, which has amassed almost a quarter of a million plays to date. What was it like to witness the insane response to that?

That still blows my mind like for real. I uploaded that song while I was in the city doing some production things and thought it’d just do kinda alright, five hours later next thing I knew Alison tweeted out the remix saying how much she loved it and I definitely cried a whole damn lot. When I was getting into the sound that I push today she was definitely an early and really impactful influence so the feeling is amazing. She still plays it out to this day and I even got to see her close her Scarehouse festival with it as the last track in person which was beyond words.

You have something really exciting coming up – the WILDLYF Sanctuary. Can you tell us a bit more about it and who will be involved?

I’m so excited for this! The WILDLYF Sanctuary event is essentially a huge party I’m organising in collaboration with my favourite local bass night ‘The Wall’ taking place November 14th. It’s an embodiment of pretty much everything the WILDLYF project represents that we’re bringing in to the physical space finally with special stage design, visuals and curated support lineup, it’s gonna be way more than just an average headline slot and that’s what excites me. Me and my crew are putting so much work into it. We got special support acts from upcoming producers Heimanu and NYRVUS too, two names that I love musically and wholly support, ya’ll should definitely keep an eye out.

Finally, what will we be hearing in your Noiseporn mix today?

This is my first ever guest mix so I wanted to break away from my usual setlist and really push forward-thinking bass music tunes that I love to the forefront with inclusions of a few sneaky unreleased ones from myself, it’s a celebration of the sounds I Iove and I’m so proud to have it that way.
